Summer Solstice Music Festival
Inspired by Fete de la Musique in France, where both amateur and professional musicians play in the streets on the summer solstice, the Laurel Summer Solstice Music Festival took place on MacArthur Blvd. and other venues throughout the Laurel District last June 25th, 2011.
It was the sixth year in a row, the Laurel Village Association coordinated the Laurel Summer Solstice Music Festival last June and intends to do so in 2012. Like the inspiration, amateur and professional musicians perform for free in venues such as inside stores or cafes, or out on street corners and parking lots. See the Festival Schedule Program! This year join us at 6 sites along MacArthur Boulevard, between 35th Avenue and High Street, in Oakland's Laurel neighborhood. We now have a page on the Musicians!
Like years past, the Festival will have musicians from all over the Bay Area playing throughout the day at spots and stores along MacArthur Blvd. between 35th Avenue and High Street. See the MAP of the venues where music will be playing.
You can also take a look at the poster we've created for the event.
